A Kenyan woman who is raising $ 1 million dollars was honoured by First lady Laura Bush at a Washington gala. She is raising the money to go build a boarding school for girls in her village.Kakeya Ntaiya from the Transmara district received the "Rising voices award " by Vital Voices Global patnership an NGO dedicated to empowering women around the world. Senator Hillary Clinton and actress Angelina Jolie also attended the ceremony. So far she has raised $100,000 dollars in the US and plans to go home summer from the University of Pittsburg where she is working on a phD in education.
